A Morning at the Salon

This morning I had a hair appointment at 9am with Lisa for the first time. (I have found myself a new hair stylist...yeah!!) I found her at my best friends' relative's salon one day when I was trying to get Brady's haircut. Brady has been to so many hair salons and nobody could get his haircut right until Lisa. She does such a great job on his hair. So, last weekend when I took the kids in to her to get their haircut, I decided to make an appointment for me too.

There is a little play area in the back (in Lisa's area) that they always like to play in when they go to get their haircut, so it was perfect. I could bring the kids with me and not have to take a vacation day from work to get my haircut! :) Jason has been working such crazy long hours and on the weekend, so I was so excited that 1) I found a new great stylist and 2) that I could bring the kids with me and they could play in the playroom...no more waiting until forever to get my haircut and having to take a vacation day to do it!!

I should have known that my curious Brady would be bored with the playroom after a short while. The salon was not very busy when we got there, so he was talking with Ashley, the other stylist, asking lots of questions about the hair dryers that people sit under, the "pumpers" on the chairs, and the sink that washes the hair.

In the two hours that I was there, he managed to learn how to run all of the stylists' "equipment"...turning the hair dryers on and off...(little did we know that he would actually be sitting under one a little later ;)), pumping the chairs up and down, and running the sink.

Lisa's area is in the back, so I wasn't able to see his every move, which can be quite nerve racking with him...because he is soooooooo curious about stuff and can get "into" things.

My dad used to call me Curious Kelli, so I guess Brady's curiosity about things must come from me. He has inherited the name...I call him Curious Brady.

Anyway, at one point when I was getting my hair done, I heard Brady tell one lady that was getting her hair done, "I pumped you up." I just started busting up laughing...what was that lady thinking of being pumped by a 3 year old??? Then, he was turning on the hair dryers and sitting under them, etc.... He was just having a good old time; Anabelle was just being a little Angel playing in the playroom....THEN...Brady had a little accident!

All of a sudden, I heard a noise and then heard Brady just burst into tears. I jumped up out of the chair with my foils in to see what had happened. He was playing with the sink and turned it on with forgetting to pull the little showerhead thing out and point it down into the sink. Water shot out EVERYWHERE!!! It was all over the floor, ceiling, and all over Brady. He was so scared at what had happened. We put him under the hair dryer to dry out a little and then ended up putting his sweatshirt into the dryer at the salon. I was just sooooo glad that a customer wasn't standing in the path and didn't get soaked....thank goodness!! How embarassing would that have been?!?!

It was an eventful morning that we will not forget soon. I'm just happy that the next time we go there, he won't be so curious about how everything works since he already had the "trial run" on everything today. ;)

The girls at the salon were great, and it helped that I know them all personally too! :) Thanks girls for being such good sports with my kiddos this morning and helping out! :) We got some good laughs!

P.S....almost forgot to mention that when my hair was done, Brady had to go "poopie" and plugged their toilet up! Thanks for plunging Stace! ;)

More Quotes

Yesterday morning when Brady woke up he said, "Mommy, I had a bad dream." I was concerned and asked him what it was about. He told me "I just dreamed that I lost my farting toy in my bed." I just had to laugh...I wish my bad dreams were that "bad"...LOL! He ended up bringing the farting toy to show and tell yesterday...it is just sooooooo him!! A little comedian in the making!

When we got home yesterday, Anabelle told me "I lost my laughing box." I said, "What???" She said, "See...(hee hee)...I can't giggle anymore." I told her "when we get in the house, I'm gonna tickle you and I'm sure your laughing box will come back"...AND......it did! :)

Today's Quotes

As we were driving home from Brady's doctor's appointment today, Brady was gazing out the window up at the clouds and said, "Mommy...the clouds look like cream."

Anabelle told me today, "Mommy, I got some bad news"

Everyday is just something new with them...I just love it...they just say the darndest things! :)

Happy 11th Birthday AllyBUG!!!

Happy Birthday to my niece, Allybug!! I can't believe that she is turning 11 today! I still remember the day she was born...it was really really windy and warm. I remember carrying balloons and a gift bag into the hospital to visit my new little niece and was almost blown away! Gone are the days of dressing her up in my swimming suit when she was a baby and putting flowers in her hair as a baby and taking cute pictures outside. She is almost old enough to babysit for my babies now! We'll be over this weekend Allybug to give you your present...hope you are having a wonderful day and hope you have a really fun slumber party Friday night!!

We love you!!

My New Best Friend.....MRS. DYSON!!

So a few weeks ago, I was vacuuming with the vacuum that we have had since we got married, and it just stopped working! We had it for 6 1/2 years, so we definitely got some good use out of it! I consulted with all of my friends on Facebook to see what kind I should buy next, and all of them told me that I just had to go with a Dyson!!

So here it is and it works WONDERS!!!

I'm so glad I listened to all of their advice!! Thanks girls!!

"Look Mommy....I Can Pee Standing Up!!"

Brady has been potty trained for little over a year now, but ever since he has been potty trained, he has sat on the toilet to go pee. We always tell him when he gets bigger that he will have to pee standing up like the big boys do.

A couple of weeks ago, he was so excited and told me "Mommy, I peed standing up!!" I said, "You did?!?! Good job, buddy! Make sure you show me next time!!" He said, "OTAY!!"

So....the next time he had to go pee, he told me to come watch. He pulled the stool up, and I lifted the lids up. He told me "No Mommy, leave that one down." So...I put the one lid down that people usuallly sit on, and then he climbed up!!

This is how he pees standing up!! I laughed so hard!!!!!! He is such a character! Oh Brady!! :)

Our Budding Little Artist

It seems like all Anabelle ever wants to do anymore is draw and color, draw and color, draw and color. She is really getting good at staying in the lines and is really getting into details. She makes so much stuff at school for us that I have to throw a majority of it away. I feel really bad when I throw something away and she notices that her art has been thrown away. I tell her, "Oh man, I'm sorry honey. I didnt' mean to throw that away!" I have to be very careful now and hide the stuff down in the garbage. We are so proud of her!

Some of her arts of work....

She drew this at school

She loves to draw people

She is really getting into the details!! :)

She is so excited for her St.Paddy's day party at school!

Very colorful!

She colored this this morning when we were out for breakfast

She drew this because this is what is on the front of her shirt..a monkey with ice cream and the number "81"....but "Mom" wasn't on her shirt....awww...my baby girl is sooooo sweet!

This is one of my favorites! As you can see, she even drew a worm in the two birds' mouths that are open like they are eating...she is one smart cookie!!

I came across this video clip the other day when I was looking through all of my pics. It is from vacation. Anabelle is the talkative one. I think Brady was starting to get a little tired! :)

Thanks to all of my Facebook peeps who left comments on it - I wish we were still there....I better start planning another vaca! LOL!

The Most Awkward Interview Ever: Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman 2-11-09

Joaquin Phoenix's interview with David Letterman has to be the most awkward one ever. Watch it below...Enjoy! I'm sure you'll be thinking WTF?? just like I was! :)

I often wonder how can some people be so strange? Even my kids are noticing "weird" people. The other day Brady and I were watching American Idol, and he spotted a singer that was a little odd. He told me, "Mommy, he's weird." I said, "Yeh, he is weird isn't he?" Then, just last night Anabelle saw Rod Blagojevich on TV and she said, "His head is weird." I laughed. It was probably all that hair he has! :) Kids just say the darndest things!

Off to the Rodeo

Last weekend, Jason and I took the kids to the rodeo. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it! This event was actually taped will be aired in a couple of weeks on Spike. This was the final rodeo to see which toughest cowboy won the ranch! There were eight cowboys in the competition, and they had a lot of rounds on their horses and bulls to see who did the best in the 8 second ride. My last picture was the only one that I got of a "ride" in progress.

During the rodeo, they had little kids around probably around 5 years old ride on the sheep. They only lasted about one second and fell off. Then, there was a dog that they had out there to round up the sheep, and there was a little monkey riding the dog. At first, I thought it was a pretend monkey, but it was actually a real one...you can see it in my pics below!

After the rodeo was over, we stayed for the Whiskey Falls and Tracy Lawrence concert. We had a lot of fun.

Jason bought the kids each a cowboy hat. They were $35 a piece...ridiculous!!! Jason met up with a buddy of his there, Donnie, and the kids got a kick out of him. He is crazy!!

Here are some pics...

The little monkey riding on the dog!! FUNNY!!

Disney On Ice

At the end of January, Nicole and I took the kids to see Disney on Ice. We all had a great time, and thanks to Nicole we had wonderful seats!! The kids were spoiled and got to buy two toys each. Anabelle picked out a Little Mermaid necklace and a pink princess light up spinning toy. Brady picked out a sword and a dragon light up spinning toy. There were different places to get their picture taken. We stopped by the Minnie and Mickey Mouse photo spot. Anabelle wanted me to get in the picture with her and Brady, so me and the kids got our picture taken with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. It turned out really cute and looks really good in the magnetic frame that came with it...a cute little addition to my office! :)

There were four themes that were played out...Cars, Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Tinkerbelle. Brady was scared of Ursula and started crying when she came out on the ice...but got over it very soon :)

Here are some pics....we'll be back to see another Disney on Ice in September...

Waiting to get in

Almost show time!

Let the fun begin!
