1st Day of Kindergarten & Preschool Orientation Day

I know I'm a little late in posting these pics of the first day of Kindergarten and Preschool orientation day...but...better late than never! :)

Anabelle is just loving Kindergarten sooooooo much! She brought home her first progress report on Friday. In every area...Literacy, Math, Writing, Social/Emotional Development, Listening, Speaking, Fine Motor Development..., she got a "NC" mark meaning "No concern at this time". Her teacher also wrote "Anabelle is doing great!!"

Brady is also doing a great job in preschool. I received an update email from his preschool teacher letting me know that Brady is doing a wonderful job in class. I am on my third year of helping the kids with their weekly preschool homework of a number and letter each week. At the end of the school year, the teachers put the homework all together in a book that has all their A to Z papers and 1 through 20 papers.

My blogs may become very infrequent because things have just been so crazy busy lately with the kids being in school, homework, gymnastics, soccer, soon cheerleading, etc... Not to mention we just bought a lot that we are going to soon be building on. I can't wait to look for our house plan! Fun fun! :)

Happy Grandparent's Day!

This poem goes out to my mom and stepdad, who are wonderful grandparents to my kids. Even though they have 17 grandkids and one on the way, they make sure to treat all of them equally and show so much love to each and everyone of them. Belle and Brady were overwhelmed with joy a few weeks ago when their grandma and papa made a surprise visit to all of us on their way up to Canada.

and so it goes...

Grandparents are special people
with wisdom and pride.
They are always offering love and kindness
and are always there to guide.
They often make you feel
so confident and strong.
Their arms are always open
no matter what you did wrong.
They try to help out
in every way that they can.
They love all their grandchildren
the same whether you're a child, woman or man.
They are always there to listen
and to lend a helping hand.
They show you respect
and they try to understand.
They give their love, devotion and so much more,
that's easy to see.
Grandparents,
what perfect examples
of the kind of person that we should be.

Happy Grandparent's Day to all of you grandparent's out there!

Brady has grandparent's day at his preschool tomorrow, and since my mom can't be there to join him, one of our great family friends have volunteered to go in her place. It is so wonderful to have such great friends! I'm so glad that Brady won't be alone tomorrow. I hope that he and his "grandparent" have fun making a craft and having a snack! :)
