The Wild Game Feed Party!

Yesterday, we went to my brother, Danny, and Sharon's house for their 2nd Annual Wild Game Feed Party. We got their just after 1pm. I made my famous taco salad that everyone has come to love. There was so much food!

Upon our arrival, Anabelle spotted Ashton and she was so excited to see him. After we ate, Brady wanted to go in the pool. He was in there ALL afternoon! Anabelle wanted nothing to do with getting in the pool. She wanted me to splash water on her so that is how she got wet.

It was so nice to visit with all of our friends and for all of our kids to play together. There was bean bag games going on for awhile, and then everyone switched to volleyball. Now that was some fun! Everyone was having a blast. Jason and I were on opposite teams, so that made it even funner! It was funny watching everyone dive for the ball, fall, and collide with one another. A couple of times the ball even bopped people in the head and actually made it over to the other side!

When it got dark, we all sat around a campfire. Danny's neighbor and his son were putting on a great show. The dad used to be the lead singer in a band and plays the guitar, and his son plays the guitar. They were belting out some great tunes with their guitar while we were all sitting around the campfire. It was like having our own little band there! They were awesome! At one point, we were all singing.

Then, there was Timmy...he was just a wee bit drunk...and he was providing us all with a little comedy show! He may not be too happy this morning. He will be waking up to find permanent marker all over his face and down his arm! Let's just say...he fell asleep and my brother, Ronnie, got to him.

We ended up getting home at 2am, so needless to say...I am pretty tired today!! We all had a great time, and I can't wait for the 3rd Annual Party!!

Carnival Day #2 - Parade, More Rides, & Fireworks

Last Sunday, we brought the kids back to the carnival for the parade, to ride more rides, and to watch the fireworks. Anabelle added one ride to her list...the race cars. She loved them! Brady also added one more ride to his list...the Bear ride.

The weather was so pleasant. Usually for the carnival weekend, it is so hot and humid. I remember sitting inside Stacy and Danny's house watching the parade from the window when Anabelle was one month old and again then the next year when Brady was a month old because it was so hot. Even when Jason and I were walking up to the beer garden Saturday night, I contemplated on putting on a sweatshirt, but didn't. I am loving this weather!

Here are some pics:

Carnival Day #1

Tonight, we went to the carnival. I wasn't sure how the kids would like going on the rides because last year they didn't want anything to do with them! Brady was the fearless one going on almost every ride, and Anabelle was the cautious one only going on three rides. Here is a little comparison:

Brady's Rides (My 3 year old)
1) Ferris Wheel (with Daddy)
2) Elephant Ride (with Daddy)
3) Spook House Ride (with Daddy)
4) Carousel
5) Crocodile Roller Coaster
6) Bumper Boats
7) Race Cars
8) Train Ride

Anabelle's Rides (My 4 year old)
1) Bumper Boats
2) Carousel
3) Train Ride

Anabelle was scared to go on the "big" rides and stuck with the slow moving rides. She is the cautious one. At one point in the bumper boats, Brady bumped into her, and she got scared and started to cry a little bit. :(

Brady was the fearless one wanting to go on all of the rides. Jason was going to take him on the Sizzler, but that is where I drew the line. There was no way I was going to let Brady go on that ride!

Alot of people that saw Brady going on the rides were laughing at him because I guess they thought he looked little and he was going on some of the bigger rides. It was funny!

The race cars just cracked me up because they really whip around the corners pretty fast. Brady was all smiles through the "whipping". Even the carni guy was laughing at him!

We will be back on Sunday for the parade and fireworks. Maybe Anabelle will build up a little courage and go on the "bigger" rides. If not, there is always next year! :)

The Worm

Last night, when we were playing outside, the kids found a worm on the driveway. They both loved watching it, and they both held it too.

Slinky Gone Bad

Brady received a little surprise package from one of his teacher's that was leaving. One of the surprises in the gift bag was a slinky. Brady just didn't understand what to do with it, so he found something to do with it.

After about the third time of him coming to me and telling me "Mommy, my hand stuck," I threw it away. I didn't want him to cut of his circulation! :) And, I got tired of trying to fix it back in to the slinky shape...it was like trying to figure out a rubick's cube! He is my little curious one...must get it from me...my dad always used to call me "Curious Kelli"! :)

1st Beach Day of the Year

With yesterday being such a nice day, I decided to take the kids to the beach. This would be the first time that we've been to the beach this year. I loaded the Jeep up with all the beach toys, sunscreen, blanket, towels, snacks, water, extra clothes, and of course my camera, and we headed out about 12:30...with the top down. The kids just love it...and so do I!

A couple of my friends were at the beach too, so it was nice to catch up with them.

Anabelle got a little scared of some seaweed. She thought it was alive. I told her that it is just like grass, but beach grass, and then she was okay with it. Brady became infactuated with Jamie's son's foam water gun, which I will be trying to hunt one down this week (and a beach chair!).

After we left the beach, we went to our friends' campsite to return the foam water gun and to visit with my friend, Alicia. After staying there for awhile, I told the kids that we would go to McDonald's. As we left the club, the kids crashed. They were out! (See pic below) They were sleeping so soundly that I figured McDonald's was out of the picture, so I just went home. When I pulled into the garage, the kids woke up, and Anabelle got a pouty face and almost started to cry because she realized that we were home and not at McDonald's. So...we left home and went to McDonald's.

When we got to McDonald's, there was a teenage boy sitting off to the side. He had obviously dyed his hair green. Brady went up to him and said, "You have green hair." The young man replied, "Yeh." It was so funny! I was cracking up inside. You just never know what kids will say and when!

Here are some pictures of our fun day!

Ribbit, Ribbit!

While Jason was working out in the yard tonight, he found a frog. After bath time, the kids went out to the garage to see it. Brady was brave enough to hold it, but Anabelle didn't want nothing to do with that!

Mr Frog was let back into the wild, and I made sure that the kids washed their hands. Don't want any warts to start forming! :) When we were coming back into the house, Brady kept saying, "That was fun!" He just loves any kind of animal!

A Day at the Park

Last weekend, the kids and I went to the park. A couple of Anabelle's friends were there also. It was a fun day! Anabelle was the first one to go down the slide. She landed in a big puddle of water from the rain we had the day before. I was so glad that I had an extra pair of Brady's shorts because she was soaked!

Brady Sleeping With His Alligator

Last week, Brady woke up at 4am to come into our bed. When he woke up, he said he wanted his alligator that was on his shelf. I grabbed it for him, and he brought it to bed with us.

He used it for his pillow.

Off to the Zoo

Today, we went to the zoo. It was a great day! We had a lot of fun. We went to the dolphin show, the children's zoo, checked out the Stingray exhibit, and saw lots of animals! We ended our little adventure with some dippin dot ice cream.

Here are some pics of today's adventure!
