Beach Fun

Spending days at the beach is a summertime favorite of ours. The kids have so much fun! They love playing in the water and sand. They like to hear the whistle blow too when it is break time, so we can go up on the benches and have a snack. :) Belle and I have fun playing catch, and Brady loves to squirt his water gun.

Here's some pics of our lazy days of summer...

Carnival Weekend

Last month, we took the kids to the Carnival that came to town. They had a blast! Anabelle was cautious on the rides only going on the slide, the train, fun houses, the carousel, and one time on the race cars. Brady, on the other hand, is a little dare devil. He went on the tilt-a-whirl, the scrambler, the Bears, the Race Cars, the slide, the carousel, the fun houses, the alligator roller coaster, and the elephants. Good thing his daddy wanted to go on the rides with him because I think I would have lost my cookies on a few of them! Brady was disappointed that the ferris wheel was not at the carnival this year.

A couple of the rides were having issues. When Brady went on the Alligator Roller Coaster, the power cord got tripped up on a big piece of steel that was in the middle area. This made the ride lose power, and Brady and the other kids got stuck on the ride. The carny guy had to pull the roller coaster back so that the kids could get off. We were given a VIP ticket ride. Then, Brady went on the Elephant ride. This ride was supposed to go up and down, but only a couple of elephants were going up and down. All the others just stayed down and went around. EVERY time that Brady circled us, he shouted, "When is this gonna go up!?". The carny shut this ride down, and gave us our tickets back.

The kids liked playing the game where you tried shooting the red cups down in hopes to win a stuffed animal. Their daddy also helped them with this game. Good thing because my aim is prolly way off! :)

We also took them to the parade and fireworks on Sunday. The weather was really nice for the parade. It's usually smoking hot, but it was very pleasant with a cool breeze.

Jason and I had Jennifer babysit Saturday night of the carnival weekend so that we could spend some time together kid free. :) We went out to eat, to the bar while it was raining, and then to the carnival beer garden once the rain stopped. While we were there, we met up with some friends and went back to their house for a bonfire.

It was a good, fun weekend!

Here's some pics of us at the carny!

Separating After Years of Being Together

When I picked the kids up from daycare last night, there was a note in Anabelle's basket that read:

"Anabelle, I will miss you so much. If you ever want to talk or get together for a play date, call me.... Love Alexis 555-1234 Best Friends Forever! P.S. Good luck in Kindergarten"

Anabelle and Lexi have been best friends ever since Anabelle started daycare when she was 15 months old...a whole 4 years!! I knew that they wouldn't be going to kindergarten together since they live in different towns, but I was not expecting a note like this for at least another few weeks! :( I asked Anabelle about her last day with Lexi, and she told me that she gave her a big hug yesterday when Lexi was leaving. :(

It is so sad. What they have known for the past four years has always been going to daycare everyday just knowing that the other one would be there to play with. But now, that has all changed. Both of them will be going their separate ways and meeting new friends in a few weeks when they are off to Kindergarten, but they will definitely have future play dates together!

Here's some pics of them...

Work Conversation - WEIRD!

Today at work, Deanne came into my office to show me some pictures and to chat. When she left my office, the Word document that I was working on before she came into my office had a message typed on it that I did not do.

This is what it read...

"Am on Monday night and I have no idea why they are endowed by selling a home LAN (the author of the L.A. law and running on a on the wrong time why I don’t know if you have an entry in the area have me a line to read and it remains living on the lot on my land-only meaning when I am going to need I say here in the UNEI U. And how I can hang on a long time, and in a long been a long year, and I. N. I started freaking out thinking that some hacker got into my computer and was doing some crazy stuff. I had Nancy and Jill come in my office to show them this wacky message that started appearing on my computer. We all thought it was so weird! Nothing made sense in the typed message!! I immediately called our IT guy and had him come to the rescue.

He told me that I somehow turned on the microphone function that would translate any conversation it "heard" into a written message in a Word document, and I just so happened to be working in a Word document too! I was so relieved to find out that it wasn't a hacker! After he told me what it was, I told him that about an hour or so earlier, I had accidentally pressed some keyboard keys at the same time and a little microphone thing popped up that I just X'd out of. Silly me! LOL! :)

My new laptop must need some new "ears" because Deanne and I were not talking about all that rubbish above. LOL! :)

My New Vacation Purse

Yesterday, I bought a new purse for vacation. I purchased it online and can't wait to get it in the mail! I think I got a great deal on it!

Isn't it Cute?! I just love it! Gotta love ebay! :)

My Little Monsters

This past Saturday, we hung out at my brother Danny's house all day. He got out a couple of his Halloween masks, and the kids had a blast playing with them! My poor nephew, Drake, was terrified of the clown mask! :( He was okay with it if he was wearing it, but if someone else had it on, he FREAKED out. A couple of times he was shaking he was scared so bad! He's such a little tough guy, so I was surprised he was scared of the clown. :)

Here's a couple of pics of Brady and Belle...aka...My Little Monsters :-)

"Fork Chops"

Last night on our way home, I was asking the kids what they wanted for dinner. Brady said, "I want daddy to make fork chops for dinner." After hearing that, I dialed Jason up on the cell and gave Brady the phone. He told his daddy that he wanted him to make "fork chops" on the grill.

We never did end up having pork chops for dinner because Jason was busy trimming bushes and then we took a walk around the block and played badmitten in the backyard (in the rain). :)

Maybe tonight, he will make "fork chops" for dinner. :)

Soft Words?!?

Last night during bath time, I was talking to Anabelle about her day. She told me that Ashton was being really nice to her at school and that he was talking to her like he was going to kiss her. I asked her what he was saying to her that made her think that he wanted to kiss her, and she said, "He was using soft words."

This is coming from my 5 year old!! TOO FUNNY! :)

Kids say the darndest things! ;)

Family Fun Day

Last month, my hometown had a little weekend summer festival. We met up with my brother and his family on Sunday to watch the parade and to hang out at the festival. After we were done uptown, we hung out at their house and the kids played. My nephew, Drake, is so funny! He makes me laugh every time I see him. He is always up to some kind of mischief! :) The kids all love playing together so much!

Candy!!!

Brady is NOT a fan of all of the firetrucks :(
