Kids Say the Darndest Things! :)

This morning we took the kids out to breakfast to their favorite "train" restaurant. As we got settled into our booth, Anabelle pointed to the pink packet of Sweet 'N Low and said, "Mommy... is that for grandmas?" I looked at her with a grin and said "Yes, honey."

As we were watching TV the other day, Anabelle saw the Connect Four game and told me that she has that game at school. I asked her if she played it, and she said, "A little bit but not so much."

They just crack me up!

Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008 was a great one. It was sunny and in the 70's! It was so nice out that the kids didn't need to get all bundled up to go trick or treating. You could actually see the kids' costumes! :) We went trick or treating this year with Jenny and Ashton like we did this year, but this year Ashton had a new baby sister, Addison, that came along too.

We went trick or treating in our subdivision, and it has to be one of the best places to trick or treat. Every year, the house at the end of our street turns into Beetlejuice's house and the guy who lives there dresses up just like him! Everyone gets into the Halloween spirit with decorating their yards up and dressing themselves up to pass out candy. One house even passes out Jello Shots! This year I even saw a "Dumb and Dumber" van ride through our neighborhood. It was decked out just like Dumb and Dumbers dog van, and they even had a license plate that read "Dumber".

When we were done trick or treating for the night, Anabelle could have went to 50 more houses, but Brady was D-O-N-E. It was stroller time for him!

Here is a video and some pics of our Halloween night. Can't wait for next year!

Preschool Halloween Party

On Halloween, the kids had a party at preschool, and I was a parent helper. It was really fun to see all the kids dressed up. There was some really cute costumes. Brady's friend was the UPS man, and his little baby brother was dressed up as the box. There was also a baby that was dressed up as a Hershey Kiss. There were many very cute ideas! The kids did "the spooky walk", played games, had snacks, played outside, and got to trick or treat from room to room. It was a really fun time, and I was so happy that I could be a part of it!

Brady was Batman and Anabelle was Ariel (only after changing their minds a million times! :))

Happy Sweet Sixteen Ashley!!

Happy Sixteenth Birthday Ashley!! I can't belive that you are already sixteen and have your license! You were such a cute funny little girl who has grown into a beautiful young lady. Make sure that you be careful while driving and always look out for the other person!

We love you!

Celebrating Jason's 31st Birthday!

Last week, we celebrated Jason's 31st birthday. I took the kids to the local grocery store that night so that we could surprise him with a birthday cake. As we turned down an aisle to go check out, Brady got all excited and started jumping up and down and being loud. When I looked up, I knew exactly why he was so excited. Jason was down the same aisle shopping for dinner! The kids ran to him all excited and told him we bought him a birthday cake. What are the odds of meeting up with him in the store on his birthday when we are trying to surprise him with a cake?? Too funny!

I could only find a number "2" candle for his cake, but at least he (and the kids) got to blow out a birthday candle! :)

Soccer Is Over...Now...On To Ballet

Anabelle has always wanted to be in "ballerina" classes, but since she was in soccer, it just wasn't possible because soccer practice just happened to be on the same night that the ballet classes were. Now that soccer is over, she is in ballet and is just LOVING it!! Her first class was last week, and her instructor was surprised that Anabelle is only four years old because of how mature she is.

I can't wait to watch my baby girl up on the big stage in June for her recital!

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins a little later this year than we normally do since Jason was working so much, but we were still able to do it before Halloween. We had a blast! The kids loved getting all of the gunk out, and they loved looking at their jack-o-lanterns when they were lit up in the dark! They turned out awesome!

They Finally Have Their Daddy Back and I Have My Husband Back!! YEAH!!!

Last week was Jason's first full week back on 40 hours. He hasn't been home much the past eight months because he's been working A LOT of overtime. He was basically just home to eat and sleep. We have missed him so much and are so glad that we can actually spend time with him now! He took the day off of work last Monday to stay home with the kids because he just missed them so much and wanted to spend some quality time with them. I guess it's time to whip out my honey do list! :)

Every night after the work the kids look forward to "fighting" with their daddy. They just love having him home now and so do I!

Kids Eating Lunch and Loving Their Cheetos!

On the weekends, the kids do not take naps at their normal nap times. They try to hold off as long as they can, but when they finally go down, they are out! A couple of weekends ago Brady was so tired during lunch, but he just couldn't resist eating the rest of his cheetos!

As you can tell from Anabelle's facial expression, she was NOT ready for a nap! :) She was ready to go go go! We were both chuckling at Brady when he was zoning in and out. Sometimes when he starts nodding off, we tell him "Wake up Jeff!"

At the Pumpkin Farm

The Final Soccer Game

Last Saturday was Anabelle's last soccer game. It was a really fun past few months. We had great weather for the entire season, except for this last game. It was quite cold!

The kids met a lot of new little friends, and I got to meet a lot of very nice parents that I am sure that I will see again in the near future. We had a great team of kids and great coaches. I'm sure that none of the parents will forget Brady as he was always on the sidelines giving somebody a good laugh, and I'm sure that Anabelle will always be remembered as the "graceful player"...leaping at times like a little ballerina. :)

The kids won one game, tied one game, and lost the others. The kids were just there to have fun and play. I never even heard one of them ask if they won or not.

After this last game, all of the parents brought snacks and each player was presented with a soccer trophy. Anabelle was so excited to pass out snack bags to all of her friends because when it was our turn to bring snacks in September, she was out sick for that game.

Until next year....

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

A couple of weeks ago, the kids had their preschool field trip to the pumpkin farm. The weather turned out to be great! We went to the petting zoo, took a hayrack ride, and picked some pumpkins. It was a fun day!
