Bring Your Child To Work Day

On June 19th, my work had "Bring Your Child to Work Day". It is usually in April, but this year, it was moved to June. All of the kids had to be at least 5 years old to participate, so I was really excited when they moved it to June because Anabelle turned 5 in May and was able to attend. YEAH!!

The kids went on an R&D tour and watched the "mad scientists" do some really cool experiments...safety glasses required! :) Anabelle's favorite was the marshmallow experiment. There were also crafts, BINGO, a scavenger hunt, etc. When I asked Anabelle what was her favorite thing, she said the scavenger hunt. When I asked her what was her least favorite thing, she said nothing. She loved everything!

We had a nice lunch together, which consisisted of Jimmy John's sandwiches, chips, and cookies. YUM!

It was so funny to hear what the ladies at work had to say about Anabelle while she was playing and I was working. (The Administrative Assistants wore red shirts and were the helpers for the kids.) Deanne told me that when she took Anabelle potty one time that Anabelle told her that she needed to put toilet paper down on the seat just like her mommy always does. We were cracking up at that!

Then, Sue told me a funny story about how Anabelle kept checking with her on where she had put some of her stuff....she wanted to make sure that Sue didn't lose it. :) Sue asked me "How old is she?? She acts so much older." I told her that Belle was 5 going on 15! :)

We had such a fun mommy/daughter day together! Can't wait to do it again next year with BOTH kids! :) If they thought Anabelle was a hoot, just wait until they meet Brady! :)

Fully Recovered....WooooHoooo!

Brady had surgery on Wednesday, May 27th to have his tonsils and adenoids removed. He was so excited to get them taken out because his sister had the same thing done. His recovery went really well. The first few days after surgery he didn't even sleep as much as I thought he would have...barely at all. I think the next week is when it hit him. He slept quite a bit. I always thought that he had a high tolerance for pain, and now it has been confirmed. He didn't even complain that much about his throat hurting.

After waking up in the recovery room, he ate three popsicles. The nurses said that he was one of the best little patients that they have ever had. His voice has changed a little bit. It was so cute hearing him talk after surgery. He sounded like a little chipmunk. :)

It is weird how each kid is different in their recovery! Anabelle's recovery seemed a little more difficult. I am just glad that they both are done with the surgeries, and the sicknesses will be gone! And not to mention...how much better they can breathe!!

Now that he is fully recovered, we can enjoy our summer...Beach, Vacation, etc.... here we come! :)

Here are some pics...

On the way to the surgery center...happy as a lark

Ready for surgery...still being his silly little self

Happy???...Not so much. Finally realizing that this was not all fun & games :(

At home the day after...fell asleep waiting to eat...wore out!

Thanks to everyone for all of your calls and get well wishes for a speedy recovery! It was truly appreciated! Thanks also to my mom for offering to come out and stay with us during his recovery to help out!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all of the hard working, deserving Dad's out there!!

Here's a shout out to the special dads in my life in wishing them a Happy Father's Day....My husband, Jason....My stepdad, Steve...and my three brothers, Ronnie, Brian, and Danny...Hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day!!

A Father Is...

A Father is neither an anchor to hold us back
nor a sail to take us there,
but always a guiding light
whose love shows us the way.
The warm light of your love
shines in my memories and in my heart
reminding me of your guidance
your care, and most of all, your love

A Father Is...

A father is a source of strength,
A teacher and a guide,
The one his family looks up to
With loving trust and pride...
A father is a helper
With a willing hand to lend,
A partner, an adviser,
And the finest kind of friend.

Anabelle and Brady made their daddy their very own Father's day present at school...

Twirlie Whirlies

Anabelle and Brady have such great imaginations, and I just love to see what they come up with next. There is never a dull moment! :)

One of my favorites is watching Anabelle be the restaurant worker in her restaurant that she has named "Twirlie Whirlies". She puts on her little apron, takes orders, and sets all the food up. She even drew a menu that had little loopty loop whirlies on it and said, "See mommy here is the menu for my restaurant, Twirlie Whirlies. Do you see the twirlie whirlies that I drew on it?"

AWWWW......

Best Buds 4-Eva!

They get along great, they stick up for each other, they worry about each other, and I know that they will always be there for each other. They remind me of me and my brother, Danny.

Class Queen

Anabelle's preschool graduation ceremony last night was just so cute. I took several video clips of it. I just couldn't help myself! :) The teachers did such a wonderful job in planning it. I had to fight back the tears and the big lump in my throat. I didn't want people to think that I was a blubbering idiot! :)

This particular video clip was a very unique and cute part of the graduation ceremony. The teachers bought each little graduate candy that was a reflection to the type of personality that the teachers saw in each child. Candy awards were given out for the best smile, class artist, best singer, class clown, etc. Anabelle was awarded candy necklaces for her title of the "Class Queen." Her teachers sure hit that one on the spot! :) I can only imagine what Brady will be awarded with next year! :)
